Seattle’s popular 17th of May celebration (Syttende Mai) is one not to be missed! Enjoy a day-long festival of music and dance, kids’ activities, a luncheon featuring a Norwegian dignitary and, of course, the annual Syttende Mai parade that starts down a mile-long stretch of Ballard. The 50th annual University District StreetFair kicks off Seattle’s festival season. During the two-day fair, check out hundreds of craft and food booths, music and dance performances, comedy sketches and costume contests.
