Working mamas don’t have it easy. Even though new mom Serena Williams is a tennis superstar, she’s every bit like the rest of us working moms. When her nearly year-old daughter Alexis Olympia took her very first steps, mama Serena Williams wasn’t even there.

Williams had a pretty good reason: she was getting ready for Wimbledon. But not being present for one of her daughter’s major milestones hit Williams pretty hard. She wrote on Twitter, “She took her first steps… I was training and missed it. I cried.”

With the over-abundance of online mom-shaming, you might think the trolls came out to wag their fingers at Williams. But that didn’t happen—far from it, in fact. The new mom got a wave of support from the Twitter community.

Journalist Alison Bender replied to Williams’ tweet, saying, “Ah Serena. I’m with you. I’m in Russia at a World Cup. I watched mine take her first steps on a video. She’ll be proud of you when she goes up (I have to keep telling myself).”

And Bender wasn’t the only one who offered Williams a few kind words. The 36-year-old tennis champ’s tweet has received over 3,000 replies and over 100,000 likes on Twitter.

Even fellow celeb mamas like Chrissy Teigen weighed in with inspiring and heart-warming words of support:

Not so surprisingly, Williams isn’t alone. Tweet after tweet poured in, giving the working mama the support that she totally deserves—and Twitter was more than happy to celebrate the love-fest for working moms everywhere.
