1. Apr. 7 & 8: Julian Gold Rush Days

Head to this quaint mountain town to mine gems, pan for gold, make candles and go on a hayride! Event details.

2. Through Apr. 15: Butterfly Jungle

Nothing heralds spring more than fields of rainbow colored flowers as far as the eye can see. Grab your camera and head to The Flower Fields to be wowed by nature’s splendor. Event details.

4. Apr. 4-8: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This enchanting ballet features over 200 dancers who tell the story of the romantic adventures and misadventures of two pairs of mortal lovers, a mystical king and queen, a man transformed into a donkey and a mischievous fairy named Puck. Event details.

5. Apr. 7: House of Scotland Tartan Day

Honor all things Scotland with bagpipes, Scottish dancing, kid’s crafts, music by Highland Way, Scottish foods, clan booths, baking including Death By Chocolate & shortbread! Event details.

6. Apr. 7, 8, 14, 15: Day Out With Thomas Big Adventures Tour

Take a 25-minute train ride with the famous engine Thomas and an added ride with his railway friend Percy. Kids will also meet Sir Topham Hatt. Little engineers will go loco! Event details.

7. Wednesdays in April: Free Forest School

Leave the city behind and venture into the forest at this free Forest School where kids can explore the great outdoors and delve into nature. Event details.

8. Apr. 14: Sweet Pea Day at Summers Past Farms

Take your little sweet peas to find their way through the towering, fragrant sweet pea maze at Summers Past Farms, where this event celebrates the dainty flower. 14. Apr. 21 & 22: Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue

Your kiddo’s favorite pups come to life on stage in this lively show that highlights teamwork and heroic rescues! Event details.

15. Apr. 21: Earth Day Celebration in Carlsbad

17. Apr. 28: San Diego Student Shakespeare Festival

19. Apr. 28 & 29 Little Italy’s Mission Federal ArtWalk

This awesome ArtWalk is the largest fine art festival in SoCal. In addition to the expansive works of art on display, kids will love the live music and dance performances, interactive art activities, street food and family-friendly art projects at KidsWalk. Event details.

20. Apr. 27: The LEGOLAND Castle Hotel opens!

Go stay at the brand new LEGOLAND Castle Hotel which opens this month and boasts 250 rooms with three themed floors – Knights & Dragons, Royal Princess and Magic Wizard and is decked out with 2,100 LEGO® models created from more than three million colorful bricks!  Stay tuned for our feature story on the Hotel.
