If your little conductors are ready to venture beyond running Thomas along the train table track, we’ve got just the ticket. Hop aboard a real train or trolley for a day trip that they’ll truly go ‘loco’ over. We’ve mapped out five scenic routes that will land you in locales from Seaport Village to Disneyland. We also tell you where to have fun when you disembark the train. You may have a hard time choo-choo-sing which trip you should do first! Scroll through our slideshow to see where to get on the right track. Bonus: 4 of these rides are free for kids under age 6!

Coaster to Seaport Village

Hop on the Coaster and ride the rails to the historic Santa Fe Depot. Walk down to Seaport Village (15 min.) and visit the pirate shop, get a pretzel and ride the merry-go-round. Time the walk back to make the return train, then enjoy the beautiful ride through coastal San Diego on the way home.
