The summer reading programs may have ended, but that’s no excuse to stop visiting your local library! Get ready to dive back into books with your kids. The whole family can curl up and enjoy story time together for free at these San Diego libraries. Kids don’t have to be school-age to enjoy reading, either. Click through the slideshow to check out these spots that have a variety of programs for kids of all ages, infant to teen!

Valley Center Branch Library

The Valley Center library offers several storytime programs throughout the year. Each story time does require registration ahead of time; forms are available at the front desk of the library, and staff is always happy to answer any questions you may have.

For ages 0-2: Baby Storytime is held every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Kids and their parents are encouraged to engage together as they enjoy stories, songs and rhymes that help with early cognitive development.

For ages 3-5: Kids not yet in kindergarten can attend Preschool Storytime with their parents, and listen aloud to fun, new stories, books and nursery rhymes together.

For ages 0-5: Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can enjoy storytime together every Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. The entire family can enjoy story time, as well as sing songs and read aloud together.
