People, people, everywhere! Have you ever wanted to go somewhere, but decided not to because you thought it would be too crowded? Living in a large city means constantly competing with others to participate. And when you have little kids with you, it makes that competition a bit more challenging. By planning ahead and using these insider tips, you can still enjoy all San Diego has to offer with fewer crowds to battle.

Cowles Mountain and Mission Trails Regional Park

Cowles Mountain Trail is always busy and parking is crazy. But if you're looking for a quick trip to the top, try to go as early as possible in the day. The best, and least crowded trails to the top of Cowles Mountain are Big Rock Trail and Mesa Trail, which hook up to the Cowles Service Road. They are longer trails, but much more scenic, shaded, and you usually only see a handful of people. You can check out the Trail Map to plan your mountain trek. And remember no matter when or which trail you use, make sure to bring plenty of water, food, and a pack for your kiddo, if they aren't yet walking.
