Infinity Cube at Birch Aquarium
The Infinity Cube at Birch Aquarium at Scripps is an immersive art installation that explores bioluminescence by combining glowing creatures with world-class science, high-tech projection and an original soundscape. Step into an 8-foot cube and become surrounded by video projections of single-celled marine organisms — called dinoflagellates — reacting to various stimulants such as the human heartbeat, music, water flow and air pressure. Through activities and interpretation accompanying the installation, guests will have opportunities to learn more about the phenomenon of living light and how marine species use it for camouflage, protection and communication. Skate Rising Skateboard Clinic for Girls
Skate Rising is a learn, serve and skateboard program for girls that’s both fun and empowering. Each month girls will learn about a need in the community and how to fulfill the need via community service. They’ll then participate in a skateboard clinic that’s run by professionals in the skate industry. Snacks and drinks provided by Nekter Encinitas and pHive Bar. Gymboree’s Egg Hunt Party for Babies & Toddlers
Join Gymboree for a special egg hunt party just for babies, toddlers and kids up to 5 years-old. Campo Bunny Train Event
The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum is a one-stop ‘hop’ to Easter fun. Families will enjoy an hour-long train ride aboard the Bunny Train, visits with the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt for big kids and one geared for little ones. Kids can turn in the plastic eggs they find in exchange for sweets and prizes. Note: Tickets can be purchased in person the day of the event at the Campo Depot. Advance reservations are not required. Enjoy Free Tacos at Puesto’s 5th Birthday Party
To celebrate their 5th birthday, Puesto will be serving complimentary tacos and aguas fresca in the courtyard of The Headquarters. There will be face painters, balloon artists and jumpy houses for entertainment, just like the best 5 year-old’s birthday party. Bring the whole family to the free fiesta that everyone is sure to enjoy! 22nd Annual Ugly Dog Contest
This is more than an ugly dog contest. There will also be prizes awarded for cutest dog, best trick, dog who looks like their owner and more. Gift baskets with dog products will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category. Gift bags with samples will be handed out to the first 100 people to check in the morning of the contest. Note: Bring a non expired canned good and receive one free ticket for the raffle (cash and other great prizes). Food will be donated to the San Diego Food Bank. Contest begins at 11:15 a.m. Sun.
