Hello Kitty lovers of all ages can look forward to a batch of exclusive goodies and limited-edition collectibles, including: a giant Hello Kitty chef cookie, a 3-piece cookie set, a lunchbox with confetti popcorn, a sprinkle T-shirt and a Petit Fours box set. Mission Trails Regional Park
It’s a Star Party that’s out of this world! Join Mission Trails Regional Park Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga and his telescope at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Lot. No white light flashlights near the telescope, please. Cloudy skies and/or rain cancels event. The Moon will not rise until after the star party. Up for viewing are the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), the Double Cluster in Perseus, the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and companion Galaxy (M32) high overhead, as well as the Orion Nebula (M42) in the Southeastern sky. Kids’ in the Garden Class at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens
See what’s springing up at a Kids in the Garden Class at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens. Kids age 3 years-old through 6th grade are welcome to attend and enjoy hands-on discoveries and fun. This Saturday’s class theme is Animal Homes & Garden Habitats. Class registration includes a visit to the Children’s Garden: the new Children’s Discovery Trail, the Ricardo Breceda “Serpent,” the Enchanted Garden Tube Tunnels, scarecrows on display, the interactive Children’s Music Garden, the Turtle and Dino Dig and the Incredible Edibles Garden. Class fee is $5 per kiddo for two hours of fun and learning, payable at the class. Fees support the development of the Children’s Garden.
