Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Annual Showcase
Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls will host its second annual camper showcase following a week-long empowerment summer camp for girls. The purpose of the program is to empower girls through music education with workshops and activities led by female mentors and musicians, focusing on collaboration, leadership and self-esteem. Snorkel with the Leopard Sharks
Join aquarium naturalists and visit leopard sharks in their underwater home off the La Jolla Coast. Pick up snorkel tips as you discover the abundant variety of animals that make their homes among the kelp, sandy bottom and rocks. Join the Fleet’s Curator of Impossible Science, Jason Latimer, as he hosts the second annual Impossible Science Festival. The Impossible Science Festival will be a hands-on, interactive event that explores the science behind the seemingly impossible. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how to turn objects invisible, explore levitation, play with the science of mind control, discover impossible figures and other amazing feats of science. This event will examine the question “what is possible?” and use visual and interactive experiences to show how the seemingly impossible can become possible through curiosity and knowledge. Sat. & Sun. Donuts Day at the Del Mar Racetrack
Go to the Del Mar Racetrack for free coffee, orange juice and yummy donuts and to take a behind-the-scenes look into the world of Thoroughbred racing! Track announcer Trevor Denman will host the festivities, which include question and answer sessions with famous jockeys and trainers while watching the horses during their morning workouts. Other activities include a meet and greet with the Del Mar Mascot Pony Boy along with face painting, entertainers and free prizes for the kids. Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition
It’s time for the most adorable surf event of the year . . .The Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition, where fearless surFUR dogs will jump on their boards and hang 20! The Imperial Beach event is the original surf dog competition. Check out the action adjacent to the Imperial Beach Pier, where more than 60 dogs are expected to participate in this family-friendly event, which raises funds for the San Diego Humane Society. Sat.
