Summer Concert Series at San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum

San Diego International Boat Show
This event features 200 boats in-water and on-land in a festive family-friendly seaside atmosphere and is THE place to see and experience everything that boating has to offer, with hands-on activities and education for all ages, including a chance to try Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) and take a variety of boating courses on-land or in-water. You can also enjoy a variety of eats from the area’s popular food trucks and beverages and live entertainment are also available, making the boat show an ideal place for families. Father’s Day Sail BRATS & Beer
Set sail with dad on an epic Father’s Day adventure. The Maritime Museum of San Diego invites you to climb aboard the Californian or San Salvador for a special voyage in honor of dad’s day. Before you venture out to sea, from 10-11:30 a.m. dad will dine on a bratwurst sandwich, chips and beer while the kids eat hot dogs. Then the 3 hour sailing trip begins boarding at 11:30 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m. The museum’s experienced crew will make your Father’s Day celebration unforgettable while working the lines and handling the sails as you sail around the beautiful calm waters of San Diego Bay. Fairy Festival
Calling all young fairies! Come to the Garden wearing your favorite fairy costume. Fairy and garden related flowery and glittery crafts will be offered for a small fee. There will also be a Fairyland Market and live entertainment. Enjoy face painting, the enchanted butterfly garden, pizza, ice cream and more! Coronado

James and the Giant Peach
See one of Roald Dahl’s most beloved stories spring to life on stage! Coronado Playhouse beckons you to crawl inside the giant peach along with James and take a peek. Find yourself with James in the center of this gigantic peach with human-sized insects – each with equally over-sized proportions – like the Green Grasshopper, the gentle Ladybird, Spider, Centipede and Earthworm and take this amazing journey across the ocean. Note: The show runs Fri., June 9 – Sun., July 2, with performances on Thursdays & Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays at 2 p.m. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Mini Maker Faire & Tractor Show
Head to the San Diego North County Mini Maker Faire during the annual Tractor Show at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum. Maker Faire is a celebration of the Maker Movement and do-it-yourself culture. Over 200 antique tractors will be on display along with: full size steam engines, steampunk exhibits, robots of all sizes, pixelated art, antique tractor parades, battle pond shows and more! Check out the famous electric giraffe that visited the White House, learn how to solder, launch an air rocket, and sign up to attend a free Cardboard Combat Bots Camp over the summer. Pacific Electric Weekend and Father’s Day BBQ
Ride into the past on the Big Red Cars of the Pacific Electric Railway with a full parade and display of the Pacific Electric Railway collection. This is a great way to spend Father’s Day weekend–– enjoying a BBQ lunch ($12 for ages 12 & up and $6 for ages 2 – 11) with an all-day ride pass for train and trolley rides. Circus Vargas Presents Steam Cirque
Circus Vargas embarks on a brand new epic adventure under the big top! Goggles, gears, and gadgets set the stage for 2017’s retro-futuristic production, Steam Cirque! This is a journey of fantastic proportions where children of all ages will marvel at the wacky and wonderful cast of characters that come alive in this exciting steampunk, science- fiction fantasy inspired circus odyssey. Arrive 45 minutes early for an entertaining, interactive pre-show celebration, where kids can create their own magic under the big top, learning circus skills such as juggling, balancing and more!
