Spring Camping at Lake Poway
Pitch a tent and marvel at the beauty of Lake Poway as you cruise the lake on a motorboat, go fishing, hike the trails and sleep under the stars. Fishing permits and boat rentals are not included; but may be purchased for a nominal fee. This is a rain or shine event! Fri.-Sat. Event details.

Solar Walk & Stargazing
Join this journey into outer space and view of our nighttime skies! You will travel through the solar system on a 1.5 mile hike into the Reserve to meet up with Curiosity Peak Observatory Astronomers. Their powerful telescopes will be focused on a distant constellation or planet so that you can experience it up-close. This program is suitable for all ages and everyone should dress warmly. Super Kids – Hero Fun Run
Your kids can be superheroes for a day at this fun run for little ones ages 2-4 and 5-7! This event raises money for Gently Hugged. The $30 entry fee includes a performance by Hullabaloo, kid/parent yoga, stretching and music with Seed & Song, face painting, crafts, selfie station and a participation medal and goodie bag. Parents/caregivers are free and additional tickets for siblings outside the 2-7 age range who would like to participate in activities other than the Fun Run are available for $12 (includes everything except goodie bag with participation medal and superhero cape). The Secret Garden
Adapted from Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic book of the same name, The Secret Garden tells the story of a lonely orphan Mary Lennox who discovers an abandoned garden as she sets out to make it grow again, unaware of the secrets it holds within its walls. The further she digs, the more the mysteries of the past emerge and the more exciting secrets she unearths. Fiesta del Sol Festival
Fun, danceable tunes fill the stage at Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach. Local music and dance performers have a stage of their own too. Little ones can let loose in the KidsZone with rides, games and hands-on arts and crafts. Face painting and the Dragon ride are family favorites. On Sunday morning from 7:30-10:30 a.m. local firefighters host a pancake breakfast at the west end of Lomas Santa Fe Dr. Sat. & Sun. Event details.

SEA Days: Birds of a Feather

SEA Days is the perfect opportunity for students, scouts, and other curious minds to fill requirements for interviewing science professionals. To celebrate Migratory Bird Day you’ll explore some amazing ocean-going birds and discover how adaptations allow them to survive in a watery world. San Diego Opera’s Family-Friendly Performance of Little Red Riding Hood
Come one, come all to San Diego Opera’s free day of opera and fun, perfect for all ages. Arrive early as the day begins with a Family Fun hour at 1 p.m. with free face painting, kettle corn and balloon artists. Then, at 2 p.m., it’s a family-and-kid-friendly operatic performance of the classic fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood complete with ‘Red’, her Grandma, the Woodsman, and oh no, a Wolf with a bad tummy! You’ll love this one-act opera sung in English by San Diego Opera’s Opera Exposed! young artist program, all fully staged with costumes and sets. There’s ample free parking in lots on the PLNU campus. The Greek Amphitheater is a sunny outdoor venue, so bring plenty of sunscreen, water and hats. Star Wars at the Library
The 5th annual Star Wars at the Library event welcomes Star Wars fans of all ages to celebrate their favorite story from a galaxy far, far away. As always, the wonderful Imperial Sands Garrison of the 501st Legion, the Mandalorian Mercs Haran’galaar Clan, Rebel Legion Sunrider Base and San Diego Star Wars Society will be ready to dazzle with their impressive cosplay. Pirate Days
Bring the kiddos for this two-day celebration that includes costume contests, cannon firings, weapon demonstrations, sword fights and scavenger hunt for pirate treasure.
