Disney’s The Little Mermaid
Take your little fishies to Broadway’s Under the Sea spectacular: Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, it’s a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. Miramar Air Show
The theme of this year’s air show is “A Salute to Vietnam Veterans.” See military aircrafts up close or perform in the air such as “Oracle Challenger III,” “Hang Glider,” the Patriots Jet Team and of course the Blue Angels. Goat Care & Goat Cheese Making Class
Do you love goat cheese? Ever wonder about the creatures behind the milk and how it turns into one of your favorite cheeses? Go meet the Wild Willow goats while learning the basic care that they need to be happy and healthy. Afterwards, enjoy a sampling of simple farmer cheese and chevre as you will be taken step by step on how to make a beginner farmer soft cheese. Play on giant inflatables and floating obstacles, walk on water in a giant water ball, dance to music under the lights by the pool and lots more water fun. FAM: Family, Art & Music Event
FAM: Family Art and Music is a special event collaboration between Ms. Juliana from Pachis Art Studio for Kids and Ms. Diana from Songbirds Music. The name says it all Family, Art & Music together for one morning, geared for children 0-10 years-old (but really anyone can participate) and their parents, set up in a way that is inviting, that makes families feel like they’re playing in their backyard. SCOUT in Liberty Station was really excited about the event and opened their doors to FAM. FAM invites families to build a community with fellow participants for that morning with the hopes that they will become friends, enlarge the village that helps raise their children and learn from one another. Nine Months Matter: Community Festival & Walk for Healthy, Alcohol-Free Pregnancies
UC San Diego Center for Better Beginnings, Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and SoCal NOFAS are hosting a free community festival and walk to promote healthy, alcohol-free pregnancies. This 2nd annual event will feature remarks by Dr. Ken Jones, community resource booths, mocktails, free food, a Kids Zone with fun family activities, raffle prizes and live music by Hullabaloo. Race for the Cure
The 26th annual Orange County Race for the Cure will feature two 5K races with loads of course entertainment, Kids One-Mile Fun Run and Family Walk, Survivor Parade and Tribute Ceremony, Race Expo, Food and Entertainment and more. Julian Apple Days Festival
Get ready for apples galore! Kiddos can pan for gold, or play games like potato sack races and climb atop an antique tractor for a great photo opportunity. Enjoy browsing the crafts made by local artists, listen to low-key music and dance, enjoy a local made glass of wine in the beer and wine garden and munch on family-friendly fare including, of course, that perfect slice of apple pie. Kanaka Fall Hike
Come to the mountains and hike the Kanaka Loop in search of some fall color. This is a moderate 7-mile hike through beautiful terrain with some hills. Meet at Farmer Staging Area. There is no cost to attend and all ages are welcome. Sun. Event details.
