Cheers! Toast Summer’s Arrival
You’ll swoon over this airy, spacious, newly opened five-story bar and restaurant that’s the perfect spot to celebrate summer’s arrival. Maverick’s Beach Club breathes new life into what used to be PB Bar & Grill. Enjoy watching the Padres or a World Cup game on one of the many big screen TVs, meander onto one of the patios with cocktails and enjoy a lively game of corn hole, or just put your feet up while you lounge on a couch by the outdoor fireplace and take in a perfect San Diego sunset. Their food conjures Baja style: grilled shrimp, carne aside and ancho chicken fill tacos, bowls and tortas. Perfect with a margarita or beer (There are over 20 drafts).

It’s Picnic Season
Nothing says summer like a picnic. Venissimo Cheese takes the work out of shopping and packing your goodies. Simply go online and order a “picnic pack.” A cool bag filled with two quarter-pound choices of cheese, sliced salami, crackers, fruit and a mini chocolate bar complete with napkins will be ready for you to pick up. Grab a great bottle of wine and you’re good to go. We like the idea of two beach chairs at sunset in Del Mar. Here are our fave places to put down our picnic blanket.
