If you’re in the market for a new car seat then dust off those Goldfish crackers off of your old one and get ready to shop. Target’s car seat trade-in event is back again and there’s never been a better time to gear up for safety.

Whether you’re ready for a size upgrade on your growing tot, or you’re just looking to seat your little ones something a little less sticky and crumb-covered, Target’s car seat trade-in event is the best time of year to score a deal on a new car seat. Now through May 5, you can bring any car seat to a Target location near you and you’ll get a coupon for 20 percent off a new one. The coupon can also be applied to booster seats, car seat bases, travel systems or strollers and can be used both in-store or online.

Not only will you be saving money on a new seat, but you’ll also prevent your old one from ending up in a landfill. Target will send your car seat to partner company Waste Management where it will be recycled to create new parts. This is a pretty awesome benefit considering that most curbside recycling programs will not take car seats and it’s not typically a good idea to sell a used seat as they have an average expiration date of six years.

You can earn one coupon for each seat that you drop off to be recycled. Drop off stations can be found near guest services in each store. Coupons are good for use until May 19, 2018. Target also currently has several car seats on sale for 20 percent off which means you can score an even better deal on a new seat.
