Gender reveals have gone from fun little family get-togethers to major parties that include kind of kooky stunts and over-the-top ideas for telling the world that, “It’s a boy or girl.” But not for Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Nope. The celeb couple is keeping the sex of their baby secret. At least, they are for now.

Update: On Sunday, the couple surprised fans again when Chrissy Teigen revealed she’s having a baby boy, via a super chill photo to her Instagram account from the 2018 Grammy Awards red carpet. Our original post follows below.

Teigen recently told Entertainment Tonight, “I know I share everything that I want to say it so badly, too.” If Teigen is struggling to keep mum about the sex of baby number two, why isn’t she spilling? The supermodel went on to say, “John’s like, ‘No, let’s have something for us.’”

Aww. With so much oversharing, via social media of course, it’s kind of sweet that Legend wants to keep the baby’s sex a secret. Being in-the-spotlight celebs, Teigen and Legend don’t get much privacy. Even when they’re not the ones snapping and posting the pics, it seems like the paparazzi and just about everyone else is.

We can totally see why Legend would want to keep something a secret. While openly discussing their fertility struggle, the pair shared that they had frozen embryos. The embryos underwent standard genetic testing, revealing their sexes. That means, Teigen and Legend already know what the sex of their baby is, no ultrasound needed.

Even though we’ll have to wait to find out if Luna is getting a little sister or baby bro, we totally understand why the couple isn’t ready to share. There’s something to be said of keeping a secret just between you and your honey. Right?

Did you reveal your baby’s sex right away? Tell us in the comments below.
