From camps that offer pro-level golf and tennis instruction to those that let kids live aboard a yacht, it’s not all campfire songs and mosquito bites for some lucky kids. ActionQuest - British Virgin Islands
If spending the summer living on a yacht while sailing and scuba diving sounds like the epitome of adventure, then sign up your teen for ActionQuest. Located in the idyllic British Virgin Islands, this camp offers kids 12 and older all the water adventures that they could imagine. Focus on tropical marine biology, learn advanced SCUBA diving skills and ride that wave on a wakeboard, all on the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean. Camps range from 14-21 days long.
Bonus: many of the camp adventures incorporate community service so that campers can give back to the community they are visiting.

Nike Junior Golf Camp - Philadelphia, PA
Tee off with Julian Krinsky Camps this summer at the prestigious universities of Villanova and Haverford in Pennsylvania. A new addition to their lineup of over 25 customizable summer programs, the Nike Junior Golf Camps will offer kids ages seven and up the opportunity to learn from JKCP School of Golf Director, Danie Steyn, and his staff. As a player on the pro tour, Danie was the Captain of South Africa’s Free State Provincial Team and is a winner of the Pelco Open. There are 12 week-long sessions with day camp options for the youngest campers and seven-day overnight camps for those 10 and up.

Raquette Lake Camp - Raquette Lake, NY
As the days get warmer and school lets out for summer, lucky boys and girls start arriving in the beautiful Adirondacks for a full summer of camp at Raquette Lake. Often called the "Ivy League of Summer Camps," Raquette Lake has been in the camp business for over a century, and the campers that return summer after summer (and generation after generation) prove that they know what they are doing. Operating separate boys and girls camps, the two groups come together for weekly lunches and socials. Many campers train all summer for the two-mile swim that takes the girls to the boys camp and vice versa. Seniors look forward to the four-day canoe trip where they prepare their own meals, carry their canoes and navigate through the waterways of the Adirondacks.

Camp Walt Whitman - Piermont, NH
At Camp Walt Whitman, campers spend a summer immersed in a camp experience that is taken to a whole other level. Theater performances are not just "talent shows" thrown together at the last minute but theatrical productions performed in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility with professional sound and lighting. Adventure means ascending a 45-foot climbing wall or making your way across a high ropes course. Older campers look forward to three- and five-day backpacking adventures, bicycling trips and canoeing excursions. Kids can gain expert instruction in sports during weeklong specialty classes. There's even a full pro staff devoted to tennis. On the camp's 300 acres you’ll find a heated pool, an indoor sports pavilion, a ropes course, a gymnastics building, three art studios, a technology tent and rustic modern cabins.

Pali Adventures - Running Springs, CA
Just outside of Los Angeles, Pali Adventures welcomes kids ages 8-16 to attend one-week sessions where adventure is literally the name of the game. Campers choose from active specialties like Hollywood action, motorsports, flying trapeze and LARP (live action role play). Develop your artistic side by focusing on street art or movie makeup. There's tons of options for every interest and also loads of ways to showcase your skills at Rock Star Showcase and the end-of-week Pali Showcase where the acting, fashion and film campers show off their talents.

Pacific Surf Camp - San Diego, CA
Does overnight surf camp make you think of kids sleeping in tents with sand in their sleeping bags? There's none of that at Pacific Surf Camp where kids ages 13-17 bunk up at local vacation rentals for five days and four nights of nothing but surfing. Learn from seasoned instructors with the newest technology of soft-topped surfboards to get kids up and surfing at any skill level. All meals and accommodations are included.
Stagedoor Manor - Loch Sheldrake, NY
Located in the Catskill Mountains of New York, Stagedoor Manor brings together kids who have a passion for theatre for a summer developing their craft. Stars like Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr., Ansel Elgort, Lea Michele, Jon Cryer and many others got their start as Stagedoor kids. Once a former resort hotel, accommodations are a step up from traditional camps with three to six campers sharing a room with a private bath. Each session, campers enroll in six different classes ranging from acting, musical theatre, vocal training, movement, dance, film acting, stage combat and more. For each three-week session, there are 14 full-scale shows in eight indoor and outdoor theaters.
Sanborn Western Camps - Florissant, CO
Providing the opportunity for young people to connect to the natural world has been the mission of Sanborn Western Camps since its founding in 1948. On over 6000 acres in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, kids hike, camp, ride horses and dig in the dirt. With Big Springs Camp for Boys and High Trails Camp for Girls, kids test their daring in high ropes courses, mountain bike excursions and rock climbing trips. With two month-long sessions to choose from, campers sleep in modern dorms and enjoy breads and desserts that are baked fresh in the camp's bakery.

Sea Turtle Camp - Topsail Beach, NC
With different programs available for campers as young as 10, the overarching focus at Sea Turtle Camp is the ocean. Aquatic adventures like boogie boarding and surfing get campers out in the warm Carolina waters, and educational exploration of the salt marshes give kids an up-close view of the ocean's many creatures. Older campers who are passionate about sea turtles and the marine environment can join the marine biology adventure camp where they will participate in sea turtle rehabilitation at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. Camp tuition includes lodging in air-conditioned, ocean-view rooms and a 4:1 camper to staff ratio.
