It’s hard to believe the holiday season is right around the corner, but if you are planning to travel it’s time to start planning now in order to score the best prices and avoid the crowds. Google Flights has just revealed its predictions for the busiest travel days to help you plan your family getaway.
Google Flights saw searches for Thanksgiving flights spike in mid-October last year, which is a sure indication that a similar pattern will happen again this year. In order to help your travel with kids go a little smoother, it can be helpful to avoid the busiest travel days of the season. While avoiding crowds altogether might be impossible this time of year, some days are worse than others. As Google Flights reports, the busiest air travel days this year will be Friday, November 17, Wednesday, November 22 and Sunday, November 26.
Google Flights uses data collected from previous years to predict what the peak travel days will be. It also reported the top 10 busiest airports for holiday travel, which includes Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Orlando, Miami and Honolulu. Google suggests finding alternative airports close by to travel out of instead if you’re headed to any of these destinations.
The top trending US destinations for Thanksgiving travel this year are:
Providence, Rhode Island
After Thanksgiving, end-of-year travel is right around the corner so it wouldn’t hurt to start looking into those dates soon as well. According to Google, many travelers were already searching for December flights in early October last year.
