How many times have your read Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day to your kiddo? Chances are, more than a few times. This iconic childhood classic has lived on from generation to generation. And from 1962 to the present day, this is one of the books that screams “childhood.” If you haven’t gotten your fill of the awesome artsy illustrations, this book is now becoming a stamp series.

Yep, that’s right. The Snowy Day is jumping off of the library shelf and onto your mail. Okay, so you basically use snail mail once or twice a month. All of your bills are automated online (how else would you ever remember to pay them anyway?) and anyone who wants to tell you anything just emails. Or texts. Or SnapChats.

The Snowy Day stamp series includes four different scenes that spotlight the lovable Peter. While this book may not seem groundbreaking now, it was one of the very first picture books that featured an African-American child as a main character. The book of 20 stamps will include Peter making a snow angel, Peter leaving footprints in the snow, Peter making a snowball and Peter sliding down a snowy hill. In other words, all of your (and your child’s) favorite scenes.

The new stamp series will be available on October 4, 2017.
