As if the ending to Toy Story 3 didn’t devastate movie viewers enough, Toy Story 4 might just be an even bigger emotional rollercoaster ride, according to Buzz Lightyear actor Tim Allen.
Allen appeared on The Talk last week where he dished on the highly anticipated finale to the Toy Story franchise. Speaking with The Talk’s Sara Gilbert, Allen said, “Yes, I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story. It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled.”
Oh, but that’s not all. Allen also said, “I couldn’t even get through the last scene.” Whoa! That’s a statement that you might expect from an actor in an Academy Award-nominated drama—not necessarily from the voice behind an animated character in a Disney franchise film.
Even though Allen admitted that Toy Story 4 ends in an emotional way, he didn’t dish on the specifics. When pressed for more info, he said, “I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away.” He did admit, “They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”
Along with Allen, Toy Story 4 will also star the voices of Tom Hanks as Woody, Joan Cusack, Bonnie Hunt and Laurie Metcalf. The fourth installment of the fan favorite comes out next June.
