UPPAbaby just won two Totally Awesome Awards. One for Most Awesome Chic City Strollers and the other for Most Superb Car Seat. We recently spoke to them about their experience as a business owner, the best advice they’ve ever received and more. Hear what they have to say below!
Red Tricycle: Your community recently voted you “Most Awesome Chic City Strollers and Most Superb Car Seat” – what do your customers value most about your business?
UPPAbaby: We pride ourselves on designing high-quality, functional gear with exceptional customer service to match.
RT: What do you want people to know about your business that they don’t already know?
UPPAbaby: Being parents ourselves, we’re passionate about creating products that truly make the lives of parents easier. We’re constantly listening to our customers and partners, focusing on improving products and innovating in the marketplace.
RT: How did your business get started and what was the motivation?
UPPAbaby: After having our first born, we realized there was something missing in the market which inspired us to start UPPAbaby.
RT: Tell us, what do you start your morning with: 1. coffee 2. tea 3. mimosa 4. water 5. all of the above.
RT: What is the most awesome thing a customer has ever done for you?
UPPAbaby: What always surprises and delights me is when we hear from customers about their amazing product experiences and the great interactions they have had with our Ub team.
RT: What is your biggest pet peeve as a business owner?
UPPAbaby: It’s not really a pet peeve, but one thing that is always a challenge is that we have so many great ideas we’d love to execute immediately, but we know it’s important to dial back and take time to put the best products and experience out there without rushing it.
RT: How do you keep your stress levels down?
UPPAbaby: Being active and spending time with friends and family always keeps things in perspective.
RT: What’s your secret superhero power as a business owner?
UPPAbaby: Not sure if it’s a superhero power, but one thing I pride myself on is trusting the team we’ve put in place and not micromanaging.
RT: Tell us, what is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (as a parent or business owner)?
UPPAbaby: This is one of my favorite quotes and words I try to live by from author Catherine M. Wallace… “Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don’t listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won’t tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”
RT: How about the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?
UPPAbaby: N/A, not sure I’d remember bad advice, but we’ve had pretty interesting and crazy product suggestions that have never actually made it to the table. We always just nod our heads and say “we’ll take it under advisement” and always focus on the positive.
