When internet giant Amazon decided two-day shipping was way too long, Prime customers got an unexpected treat—one-day shipping! With the success of the even faster shipping method, other retailers are taking note. Walmart recently announced plans to offer NextDay delivery to select cities, with plans to expand the service to 75 percent of the country by the end of 2019.

Instead of paying an annual membership fee for next-day delivery, Walmart will offer this much-needed service for free. According to a recent press statement, Walmart will start NextDay delivery in Phoenix and Las Vegas. The retailer will roll out the option to cities in Southern California soon after.
