No one ever said that raising kids is easy. As a mama, you want the best for your children. That’s why you try to teach them the values you believe in. And that’s also what super-star singer Kelly Clarkson is doing. The celeb, and mom to four (she’s a step-mom to two of the four), recently talked openly about what she wants to teach her children. So what does Clarkson want her kiddos to know? Take a look at the important message that she’s wants her three-year-old daughter, River Rose, to know.
River Rose may only be a preschooler, but Clarkson is already helping her little girl to stand up for herself. The singer talked to People at Variety’s Power of Women event, telling them, “I said, ‘You tell mommy if somebody does anything inappropriate. You stand up for yourself.’”
She went on to add, “Even from a young age, I think you should instill that people, your children, should always stand up for themselves or speak out when something is wrong.”
And that’s a major message for all children, not just Clarkson’s, to learn. Even though her three-year-old isn’t exactly at the age when she can fully understand the importance of being her own person and standing up for herself, an early start can never hurt.
