It’s been 16 years since the last Whole Foods cookbook—so saying we’re excited about the The Whole Foods Cookbook: 120 Delicious and Healthy Plant-Centered Recipes is an understatement! The new collaboration with co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, John Mackey, Dr. Alona Pulde and Dr. Matthew Lederman––both health and wellness medical experts for the store––is now available at Whole Foods Markets, Amazon.com and other booksellers across the United States.
The new cookbook boasts recipes for breakfasts, lunches and dinners that feature mostly plant-based ingredients—with plenty of protein-based alternatives, too. It also educates readers about different cooking techniques, the art of developing flavors and how to mix and match foods.
While we haven’t gotten a peak at any of the recipe yet, Delish reports sightings of Roasted Eggplant with Cashew Cheese, Indian Chickpeas, Roasted Spiced Cauliflower, and Vibrant Veggie Gado Gado, a type of Indonesian salad. You can bet they’re all made using fresh ingredients that are as whole and plant-based as possible!
The Whole Foods Cookbook is broken into two parts and starts with with words from Mackey, Pulde and Lederman about the health benefits of the eating whole foods and the reason behind the techniques to give readers confidence in the kitchen. You’ll also find short cuts for family meals, tips on entertaining, and hacks for infusing flavor without animal fats.

The second half of the book addresses meal planning and easy snacking with 120 recipes developed by Chad and Derek. Every recipe has alternative protein options and simple step-by-step on cooking without oil.
Now through Nov. 6, The Whole Foods Cookbook is on sale for Prime Members! You can pick up the book for $15.99––a savings of $4. All proceeds will be sent to the Whole Foods Market foundations, such as the Whole Kids Foundation, the Whole Cities Foundation and the Whole Planet Foundation.
Be sure to visit your local Whole Foods Market because select recipes from the cookbook will be available at the hot bar and salad bar at between November and December. Can you say “delish?”
