At X Marks the Tot kids store, family bonding is taken to a whole new level.

Created by the super-clever Burchak trio (Mom/Grandma Tarri; Daughter-in-law/Mom Carisa; and Daughter/Auntie Andrea), the Issaquah boutique offers gorgeous, eco-friendly children’s clothing, all of which is created upstairs at the on-site design studio.

While Tarri, a longtime Seattle-based clothing designer, is the creative force of the family, her daughters bring their own talents to the table. Carisa has a background in retail marketing and merchandising, while Andrea, a professional dancer, has done her share of designing and sewing and helps with store décor.

And if the women behind the store don’t impress you enough, their fab clothing line will. Tee Suits are made from recycled adult t-shirts. (Got a fave college, rock band or sports team tee? Tee Suits can be custom-made.) Organic onesies feature vintage patches. Skirts, pants and dresses are made in colorful fabric prints with funky embellishments. (We especially love the reversible pinafore with the Elvis pattern!) Everything in the store is pre-washed three times, so nothing shrinks.

The Burchaks have thought of everything…including what happens when little ones tear their clothes. The X Marks the Tot Garment Bandage Kit provides the ultimate fashion remedy: iron-on patches in the shape of adorable little band-aids.
