The Major Oak – Edwinstowe, England

This beloved tree looks like a perfect candidate for serious fort building but you'll have to settle for admiring it's boughs, instead. Voted “England’s Tree of the Year” in 2014 and even rumored to be the shelter for Robin Hood and his merry men, the Major Oak is a tree of fun facts. Due to its heavy branches and odd shape, the tree is supported by metal rods and even has its own surgeons who come check the tree periodically to make sure it’s okay. Read more about it here.
