Mondays, amirite? Getting out the door on time and with the least amount of stress possible is sometimes easier said than done. For busy parents and active kids, saving a few precious minutes in the morning can mean the difference between having a great day or having a blah day. Check out our roundup of some of the smartest and most convenient apps that’ll help take you from bleary-eyed to raring-to-go!

Shyp—Shipping On Demand

Many parents’ seemingly insurmountable to-do lists often include sending a belated birthday gift or returning something purchased online, but who has the time to wait in line at the local post office or at the overnight delivery service? Enter Shyp, the easiest way to ship anything. Using the free app, Shyp will pick up, pack and send your stuff, at prices that are comparable with many full-service brick-and-mortar shipping services. Instead of schlepping packages someplace to get sent, however, Shyp users simply snap a pic of the item they want shipped (no box or packaging needed), then their items are picked up within 20 minutes.

Currently available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago, the app lets users schedule pickups seven days a week, then Shyp expertly packages even fragile or oddly-shaped items for delivery. Every shipment is automatically insured up to $100, with additional coverage available for purchase in the app.
