Your kids may not be old enough to drink wine, but they sure can get in on age-appropriate fun for National Drink Wine Day.

First grab a bag of grapes from the store and a bucket. Place the grapes in the bucket (you might want to put the bucket in a tub, over some newspaper or outside if you live in a warm place). Tell your kids to take off their shoes and go wild jumping on the grapes.

This fun and totally unusual activity is used in traditional winemaking. Stomping on the grapes softens the skin and breaks the grapes into pieces. In fact, it’s the first step in fermentation.
