Feeling a little pandemic’d out? We’re with you. Keep reading for our favorite products that make parenting during a pandemic just a little less insane—and a lot more fun.
Black Mermaid's Hand Sanitizer
Local Altanta company, The Black Mermaid, was started with the purpose of helping people have healthy, beautiful skin, naturally. And when the pandemic hit, Black Mermaid’s Bath & Body founder Denise Zannu decided to throw her talents into creating a non-sticky, effective hand sanitizer at their Snellville location. Lucky for us, she succeeded. Purchase it in both pump and spray form online.
Available online at Black Mermaid's Bath & Body, starting at $5.99.
The Perfect Masks
When masks are popping up everywhere, finding the right one (or actually, dozen or so, since we know they'll be as easy for our kids to misplace as their shoes) can put you in a pickle. They need to be soft, stylish, and safe. These mask covers all of those bases, plus it earns bonus points for being locally made in Marietta and lightweight—perfect for those sweltering summer and fall days.
Available online at Stitch Masters 19 via Etsy, starting at $9.99.
Toy and Activity Kit Delivery
You're amazing and entertaining. But it's hard to be amazing and entertaining for months on end without reaching a creativity block every now and then. For those days when you're all parented out, Kazoo to You offers bundles of toys and games, based on your children’s gender and ages, your budget, and specific requests, directly to your home (within a 5-mile radius of their store at 3718 Roswell Road).
Available for purchase online at Kazoo Toys Atlanta.
Sleeping Under the Georgia Stars
The strange thing about the pandemic is that some days, you're fine. Others days, the four walls feel like they're getting a little close for comfort. On those days, you need a place to pitch a tent—even if it's in the backyard—and sleep under the stars. Here are our favorite places to camp in Georgia, and this is a great step-by-step for having the most epic campout, ever.
Useful & Stylish Bag Straps
Hampton Road Designs create uber cool bag straps that make finding your hand sanitizer a snap. Gone are the days of standing outside your car, mask riding up on your eyes, as you search for that bottle of sanitizer at the bottom of your purse while ice cream melts at your feet. Just loop it through one of these awesome bag straps, instead, and you'll make your life easier while also elevating your quarantine style. And, Bulldog fans rejoice! The line of striped straps is perfect for showing your Georgia spirit. Choose the red and black option, or for your Tech fans, there's a yellow and white option.
Starting at $89 on Hampton Road
Weekly Meal Planner & Local Delivery Service
For all the meals you've made, and all the ones staring you down, this menu planner by Sweetzer & Orange helps you minimize your trips to the store, save time while you're there, and save money on those impulse buys. While there are cuter ones out there, we like this one because its minimal design maximizes your writing space. And if you want to take it a step further and skip the store entirely, take a look at our fave Atlanta businesses that make meal prep a snap, with meal delivery services from local sources.
Available on Amazon for $7.99.
Clean Manis & Pedis
Your favorite nail salon might not be taking appointments yet, or maybe you're just not ready to take the plunge, but that’s not such a bad thing when there’s a healthier way to treat your nails to great new colors at home. Halo Hand offers “high-fiveable” clean nail polish kits that come with everything you need for a total at-home mani-makeover. Best of all, you’re not compromising your nails by exposing them to toxic chemicals in the process—making them perfect for manis with your favorite mini. If you're ready to venture out instead, try a visit to Atlanta’s first 100% clean beauty nail salon, The Water Room, where they use polishes that are at a minimum free of the 8 most toxic ingredients commonly found in most conventional nail polish.
Kits starting at $32 from Halo Hand.

A Bike Trailer & The Perfect Path
One nice thing about the pandemic is that kids are riding bikes like it's 1985. But what do you do if your children's ages span the ability spectrum? Pick up one of these kid trailers, which makes towing your tots easy while keeping up with your big kids! While a variety of styles and brands are available, we like the ability of the zip-up model to transform into a "stuff trailer" as needed, or the cool tandem-style bikes that are perfect for your bigger little kid. Need some inspo for where to ride? Check out these awesome Atlanta bike trails.
Trailer model available on Amazon for $119.99.
Grocery Delivery & Local Co-ops
There's nothing that brings us more peace of mind than to know that those empty refrigerator shelves can be restocked by someone else, when you can't get to the store. With plenty of national options to choose among, like Amazon Fresh, Shipt, or Instacart, we also love local co-ops like Eat Right Atlanta and Fresh Harvest Georgia.
Comfy Robe
Trendy prints on fabrics that are ultra cozy, soft and breathable offered in matching mommy-and-me designs are the calling cards of Queen Maddyn. Offered in new prints each season, the Queen Maddyn collection includes ladies robes, baby gowns with matching bow or cap, and swaddle. And since the last time you probably purchased a nice robe was when you became a mom on your first go-round, the pandemic gives you the perfect reason to pamper yourself with a new one.
Available at Queen Maddyn for $65.98.
Fancy Water Bottle
Staying hydrated is good for our mind and body, and is one thing that isn't made harder by the pandemic. We especially love the tea and fruit infuser water bottles by Fressko, which offer a brew-as-you-go feature with a removable infuser. With a variety of styles and sizes to choose from, Fressko bottles are perfect for hot or cold drinks on the go—or on your couch.
Available from $29.95 on madebyfressko.com.
Fancy Sidewalk Chalk & Painter's Tape
Chalk is cool, but donut chalk is epic. And when you're heading out to your driveway for the 1,000th time, nothing will pump them up more than some fancy chalk and a roll of painter's tape, which is guaranteed to amp up the creativity factor. For inspiration on what to do with all that chalk, check out our favorite ways to have fun with sidewalk chalk, here.
Available for $14.95 on Amazon.
Incredible Inflatables
When the playground is off-limits and your backyard has reached its limit on offering excitement (not to mention temps in Atlanta don't settle down until October), one of these incredible inflatables for your backyard will get everyone feeling like they've got a handle on life again, in no time. If you're not ready to make the commitment, these local inflatable rental companies may be able to help, with extended rental options or creative play packages.
