The National Train Show
Atlanta plays host to the 23rd Annual National Train Show—the industry’s most respected model train show and trade exposition. Little engineers will enjoy the children’s play area and over 144,000 square feet of exhibit space dedicated to those loco for locomotives. Fri., noon to 6 pm, Sat., 10 am to 6 pm, Sun., 10 am to 5 pm, Cobb Galleria Centre, $6-12, children under 6 are free. All ages. Event details.

Brer Rabbit Tales
Celebrate the 149th anniversary of the Battle of Atlanta and teach your tot some history along the way. Enjoy the classic Brer Rabbit tales from Favorite Akbar Imhotep. Check the Battle of Atlanta Festival website for the full list of other activities including living history presentations, walking and van tours, live music and storytelling event. Sat., 12:30 pm, Kirkwood Library, Free. All ages. Event details.

Reptile Day
Lizards, turtles and salamanders—oh my! Come face-to-face with table after table of live reptiles and amphibians, including pythons, king snakes, geckos, tortoises, monitors, iguanas, and many more! This popular annual event offers a unique opportunity to interact with and learn more about these unique and ecologically-important creatures during this popular annual event. Sat., 10 am to 2 pm, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Free with admission. All ages. Event details.

Breakdance Class for Kids
This one-hour, drop-in class explores the original style of street dancing involving floor work, pops, locks, and waves. A fun way to work fitness into their routine, let them enjoy a very physical and less technical form of dance. Sat., 12 pm for ages 5-6 and 1 pm for ages 7-9, Kids Dance 411, $15. Ages 5-9. National Ice Cream Day
Visit the Museum to learn how to make ice cream with Blue Bell. This hands-on activity will include a complimentary sampling for all participants. Visitors will also receive complimentary Blue Bell Ice Cream on their way out. Sun., 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm, The Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Free with general admission, free for members. Ages 8 and under. Event details.

Children’s Consignment Event
