Touch a Truck at Blackburn Park
Police and fire departments will be on hand to provide a day of FREE fun and learning for the whole family. Kids will be able to hop up in a fire truck, get behind the wheel of some heavy maintenance equipment, check out various police vehicles and get some helpful safety tips from Brookhaven’s finest. Jazz on the Lawn at Callanwolde 
Head to the classical castle Callanwolde for jazz on the lawn, lightning bugs included. Guests are invited to bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy these special concerts under the stars. Beer, wine and Coke products will be available for purchase, and the Dominics’s Pizza food truck and Atomic Ice Cream Sandwiches will be available at every concert this summer. A world premiere play with original music, Pancakes, Pancakes! is a tale for all ages inspired by the book by Eric Carle. XOXO: A New Exhibit at The Children’s Museum
Think you know exactly what your kiddos are feeling? You might be surprised. XOXO is an exhibit that asks children to explore their feelings through play, silliness, and by considering what makes them sad, mad and happy. They will ask questions, listen, and learn more about the people around them. This exhibit encourages children (and their caregivers) to take a deep breath and explore these powerful feelings and the effects they have on yourself and on others. Slide the City
Back for another splash in Atlanta, Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event, complete with music, food, drinks, water, and—of course—the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry, it’s padded. Make sure to bring water buckets, floaties, and water guns (non-realistic of course), to squirt, spray, splash, and get all attending soaked. OFW Arts Festival
Named “Best New Event” by the Southeast Festivals and Events Association, visitors can enjoy art from up to 150 local and regional artists, a children’s play area, local food and beverage concessions and live acoustic entertainment. Worth the Drive: Barnesville

Celebrate America at The Rock Ranch
The Rock Ranch’s annual patriotic event—17 years running—is back with all day family fun, including concerts on the lawn and a huge fireworks show under the stars! Held at The Rock Ranch, 5020 Barnesville Highway. Gates open Sat. at 2 p.m. for families to enjoy the farm and more than 35 family fun rides and attractions.
