Spring into action this weekend with a variety of family-friendly activities. Take advantage of the beautiful weather and have the rugrats race around town with either the AJC Peachtree Jr., the 2013 Georgia Walk Now for Autism Speaks or the Mableton Day 5k. Or check out what’s abuzz at Atlanta’s various nature centers as they celebrate the season with puppets, concerts, crafts and special spring programs. AJC Peachtree Jr.
The AJC Peachtree Jr. 3K is a family-friendly event that allows kids to experience the fun of running their own version of the AJC Peachtree Road Race in a safe and non-competitive environment. Prior to the AJC Peachtree Jr., the Lil’ Peach 50M Dash, ages 6 and under, will take place at 8:15 a.m. Sat., 9:00 am. Piedmont Park. $22 to register. Event details.

2013 Georgia Walk Now for Autism Speaks
Walk Now for Autism Speaks is a fun-filled, family friendly event and is the single most powerful force to fund vital research that will lead us to the answers we need about the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder in the U.S. Experience the power of thousands united by a single cause by joining Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Nosey Rosey Comes to Visit
Holly Stevenson employs improvisation, puppetry, and classic European clowning techniques to create just the right atmosphere for Rosy’s hilarious antics. With her little red clown nose and perky straw hat, she tackles one silly predicament after another with pratfalls, props, and pantomime. Beautiful Butterflies Drop-In Program

Mableton Day
Mableton Day begins with a 5K race, which will begin and end at the Mable House Complex. Other events include a Children’s Fun Run, 1K Dash, old school car show and music and entertainment. Bee Day
Learn about harvesting honey and celebrate all things bee at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Kids Concert featuring Mr. Jason and Mr. Parker
Bring a chair, blanket, and picinic and get ready to rock the afternoon away in the shade of Dunwoody Nature Center’s newly restored meadow. There’ll be plenty of boogying as Mr. Jason and Mr. Parker break out their favorite songs and dance tunes – all with the pre-school and young elementary crowd in mind.
