Atlanta Kids Weekend Events: Nov. 8-10

This Veterans Day Weekend, you can salute our veterans at the Georgia Veterans Day Parade & Festival, and then head out to enjoy your freedom to pursue happiness at a free Design Club Day, the Native American Pow Wow, a Slime Expo, and more. Georgia Veterans Day Parade & Festival
Don’t miss the 38th annual Veterans Day Parade and Festival at Pemberton Place near the World of Coca-Cola, where after the parade you’ll find vintage military vehicle displays, veteran service associations, and many great organizations that provide support to our Veterans, as well as the 116th Army Band performing classic rock and country music (bring your blankets or chairs!) at this year’s festival. Design Club at MODA
Enjoy a free day of design for all. This month, you’ll design your own poster to show the world what you are grateful for, using a basic in the world of graphic design – GRIDS – to help layout posters. Graphic designers use grids to organize to the content, and provide structure for the viewer.There is no charge for this event but they ask that you register in advance to help plan for the day. Sun. Cobb Galleria

Slime Expo
Head to Cobb Galleria to meet YouTube slimers, various slime vendors, attend slime-making workshops, get free samples and check out a slime trade area, and more at this expo expressly for your slimers. Sat. Event details.

Buckhead

Macy’s Pink Pig
Get a jump start on your holiday bucket list at the Macy’s Pink Pig, one of Atlanta’s most beloved traditions. From its debut in the ‘50s as a children’s ride at the downtown Rich’s store, to its brief stint at the Egleston Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees, five generations of Atlantans have ridden the Macy’s Pink Pig into the holiday season. Free Family Movie Night at Fernbank
In Georgia, more than 20 percent of children are hungry, and Beech-Nut is partnering with No Kid Hungry to change that. Enjoy a free family movie night fundraiser and story time at Fernbank’s giant screen, benefitting No Kid Hungry. Native American Pow Wow
Experience the energy and color of the largest Native American gathering in Georgia at this four-day Native American Festival and Pow-Wow, named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society. Held at Stone Mountain Park’s Historic Square, the event showcases Native American culture through dance, music, authentic craft demonstrations, cooking traditions, storytelling, wildlife presentations and more. Restaurant Week
