Madeline’s Christmas
Based on the book by Ludwig Bemelmans, this holiday season will be unlike any other for Madeline and her friends. While on their morning walk with Miss Clavel, the girls come down with the flu, and as they take to their bed, many wonder if they will be able to go home for Christmas. With the arrival of a mysterious stranger, Madeline and the other girls get a musical, holiday adventure beyond their wildest dreams. Fri.,-Sun., 1 & 3:30 p.m., Horizon Theatre Company, $15 for adults, $12 for children (12 & under). Snow Mountain
Spend a fun-filled day playing across five football fields of frosty joy. Zoom down the 400-foot hill all together in our family-sized tubes, or go it alone as a single rider. The Astor Holiday Ice Skating Rink
The Astor Holiday Ice Skating Rink harkens back to the elegant era of the distinguished Astor family who founded the flagship St. Regis New York in 1904. Under the warm glow of twinkling lights, glide around the exquisite ice rink to sounds of holiday melodies and enjoy seasonal favorites including hot cocoa and s’mores. Reservations are recommended by calling The St. Regis Atlanta Holiday Desk at 404.563.7797. Little Raindrop Songs
Take a whimsically theatrical and imaginative journey through an anything-but-normal day, with original music by the Japanese ‘pajama-pop’ band Lullatone. The audience is led through a fully interactive world made completely of brightly colored paper which transforms dramatically into multiple settings.  Combining unexpected puppetry, a vibrantly colorful and transformative two-dimensional set design, whimsically comic performances, and the catchy pajama-pop of Lullatone, this fully interactive theatrical performance will connect with the very young and invite them into the wonder of the artistic experience. Fri.-Sun., 9:30 & 11:00 a.m., Alliance Theater, $10. 18 months to 5 years. Meet the Holidays: Kwanzaa
Join the Imaginators as you make colorful Kwanzaa placemats.  The colors of the placemats represent traditional Kwanzaa colors: black, symbolizing the African-American people; red, representing struggle; and green, which symbolizes hope for a better future. Sat., 12 & 3 p.m.; Sun., 3 p.m., Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Free with admission and for members. Ages 8 and under. Event details.
