Many of your own childhood favorite films are making a comeback with remakes for a new generation, but none will make you squeal “Awww!” quite like this one. The world’s most famous stray is ready to melt your heart again in a new Benji movie on Netflix.

This new modern take on a beloved classic follows the story of brother and sister, Carter and Frankie, who decide to adopt a scruffy pup they find on the street and name him Benji. When they find themselves in danger, Benji saves the day and looks completely adorable while coming to the rescue.

The movie is written and directed by the son of the first film’s director. The original Benji was released in 1974 and led to several sequels, so if this one is a hit, there’s a good chance there will be more of this furry hero in the future. Benji debuts on Netflix March 16.
