Whether you braved the long lines or opted to stay home, the Build-A-Bear Pay Your Age Day turned out to be a huge headache for pretty much everyone involved. Clearly people love a good deal and if you’re still majorly bummed that you didn’t score one yesterday, there’s hope. You can get a $15 voucher from Build-A-Bear, but you’ll have to act fast.
In case you missed the news, Build-A-Bear was forced to close its stores yesterday and turn away customers after a massive response to the Pay Your Age Day promotion. Those who were turned away at the door were given a $15 Build-A-Bear voucher to use on another day. If you had planned to go, but skipped out when the news broke, you can still get a voucher, too.
In order to participate in the Pay Your Age Day promotion customers had to be signed up with the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club Rewards program (don’t worry, it’s free). To get your voucher you’ll need to log in to your Rewards account by midnight on Jul. 15 and print it out. The voucher is only good for in-store purchases through Aug. 31, 2018. Only one voucher will be given per Bonus Club account.
Despite all the disappointment, Build-A-Bear had its customers safety in mind, explaining to USA Today, “We feel it is important to share that, based on the information available to us before the day began, we could not have predicted this reaction to our Pay Your Age Day event. We understand that many Guests were turned away as, due to safety concerns created by the crowds, authorities in certain locations closed Build-A-Bear stores and, in other locations, we were forced to limit the line.”
Build-A-Bear is encouraging customers to take their time using the vouchers to ensure that long lines and wait times are no longer an issue.
