WAYB is a new company from longtime outdoor industry manufacturing experts, Tio Jung, I.S. Jung, and Michael Crooke, a former CEO of Patagonia. The South Pasadena-based team came up with the idea for the WAYB Pico™ after noticing how often parents struggle with car seats or skip them while traveling.
The WAYB Pico is an ultralight and compact forward-facing car seat made of aerospace-grade aluminum and high-performance mesh—materials that are better for kids and more earth-friendly.
Weighing in at only 8 pounds, the patent-pending Pico is ideal for parents and caregivers navigating planes, rideshare, rental cars and carpools—it is also designed for everyday use. The Pico meets U.S. safety standards regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
With aerospace-grade aluminum in place of cheaper plastics, high-performance materials like WAYB’s ASTROKNIT™ mesh that will replace bulky foams, and ultra-light portability—the Pico is in a category of its own.
