Halloween prep is serious business in our house. I get out the costume bins, which we rifle through on a free-form jazz odyssey to create costumes you can’t buy in a store. And yes, on this night, sweets happen. Which means we need to be on point about the teeth brushing. I remember as a kid toothpaste having sparkles, swirls, and coming in flavors like “bubble gum”, but as a parent, my criteria was different: We wanted one that used no artificial dyes, colors, or sweeteners, wasn’t tested on animals, had a fluoride-free option… and didn’t taste “spicy.” (Parents, if you haven’t made this mistake yet, let me save you some time and energy: Just one too-minty toothpaste experience can make brushing an uphill battle for many a morning and night. 😬) Enter @Toms_of_Maine #SillyStrawberry. Made from natural flavors that include real fruit juice, it comes in a recyclable tube, and most importantly, the kids love the taste so much that the challenge becomes talking them out of brushing their teeth for the third time that night, “just in case”. Plus, not only does Tom’s donate 10% of their net profits to organizations that help support people and the planet, their employees are actually encouraged to use 5% of their paid time to volunteer with local charities, which is why I’m proud to #partner with them this Halloween. #TomsofMaine #Ad
