Yee-haw! Swinging, climbing and sliding season is just getting started — and there are so many places to jump into the action. Chicago has more than 500 playgrounds. And 77 will be rehabbed or built this year, thanks to Mayor Emanuel’s Chicago Plays! program. Best Mega Slides: Mary Bartelme Park

Not only does this playground have amazing slides and climbing structures, but it's known for its ADA accessibility that allows for inventive, non-linear play. Some slides are built right into the “hilly” landscape. Get ready to shout "Whee!" Find it at 1331 W. Monroe St. in the West Loop. Online: chicagoparkdistrict.com
