Summer’s come and gone and now we’re getting ready to see our little scholars off at the start of a new school year. Whether you’re hitting up the mall for some sweet new kicks or rush ordering that last-minute backpack your kiddo begged your for way back in June, chances are every parent you know is doing the same thing. Whatever you’re doing to gear up for this exciting time, back to school traditions are in full swing.
For our very own Laura Rodde, sales manager at Seattle office, back to school traditions just kind of happened. What started off as a one-off has now become a yearly celebration between Rodde and a group of neighborhood moms.
“For the past 6 years a group of 4 moms have had tea at the Georgian Room in the Fairmont Hotel to celebrate going back to school. The first year there were 3 girls going into Kindergarten. We are now up to 8 (with 1 more yet to go) as siblings have joined on the day before their first day of Kindergarten. The oldest are now going into 5th grade! We have great photos from each year and it is amazing to see how all the kids have grown. We all wonder if there will ever be a year where there is no whip cream on noses and if the giggling will cease to turn heads….”
We shared a little tradition from one of our own and now we’d love to hear from our awesome readers. Do you have any back to school traditions of your own? A round of mom-only cocktails at the local bar or perhaps a group lunch with your child’s besties?
Whatever you back to school tradition, no matter how big or small, we’d love to know. Share yours with us in the comments section below!
