This weekend is out of this world. In fact, it’s out of this galaxy. Adler Plantarium launches its new sky show — a virtual zoom through space and time, with twinkling constellations along the way. For down-to-earth amusement, hit Green Festival at Navy Pier, party with the moms of Bump Club and Beyond, and walk for Autism Speaks. Ready? You’re clear for takeoff.
Cosmic Wonders Sky Show
Unlock the mysteries of the universe. If that seems like a tall order, just sit back and enjoy the ride at this compelling new blitz through space. The Adler Plantarium’s domed theater acts as a virtual observatory as you look up at never-before-seen images of the night sky. The experience is immersive, thanks to advanced technology and footage from the Hubble Space Telescope. In fact, Crab Nebula appears to descend so close that you can touch it. Opens Fri. and runs daily through Apr. 1, 2014. Admission included in the museum’s Premium Pass ($28 for adults; $22 for children 3-11). Event details.
