For an Artful Layout: Lucy Ella Gonzales Parsons Playground
This is a blink-and-you-miss-it beauty! However, there is very little shade, so come on a cooler day or bring water. This playground has an artful layout featuring a stepped slope, paths, large stones and mosaics. And -- ooh, la, la -- you'll love the modern climbing structure shaped like the Eiffel Tower. Beat the heat at the water sprayers that are gentle enough for toddlers to enjoy. Picnic tables are located within playground and do offer the only bits of shade here.
4716 W. Belmont, just east of Cicero in the Kilbourn Park/ Belmont-Cragin neighborhood. Get info about the park online at chicagoparkdistrict.com.
