It comes on faster than an unwanted snowball to the back of the head — cabin fever! The cure is to keep your spirits up and body moving with indoor adventures. Check out the playful scene at museums and community recreation centers, where you’ll find mini tree houses, itty-bitty jungle gyms and more. Click through our album for spots that might not be on your list yet, but definitely should be.

For Educational Play: Skokie Exploritorium

Beat the sub-zero temps with this excellent indoor activity center. While it's great for any age, toddlers have a lot to gain: They can cruise around on ride-on toys or take a dip down a pint-sized slide. In the water zone, you can catch rubber fish with nets, but thankfully stay dry with smocks. Another fave? The giant Lite Bright that lets young minds really shine.
