Will you choose the horse? The lion? The seal? Whatever animal you nab on the merry-go-round you’re going to have a whirling, twirling good time. Carousels are pure, nostalgic fun, but you can’t find them just anywhere — and that’s part of their charm. Flip through our album to discover the must-rides, from vintage roundabouts to serious double deckers.

For Cowboy Fun: Donley’s Wild West Town

Head west, to the Wild West, to lasso one of Donley’s 26 carousel horses and chariot that decorate the vintage 1940s carousel. Once you’ve tamed the aluminum horse, move on to the cowboy big leagues by riding a pony at the O.K. Corral. Your ticket to ride is included in the $16 general admission paid to enjoy gold mining, Wild West shows, train rides, cowboy roping lessons, the tomahawk throw, archery range, pop gun shooting, a tot-sized coaster and world famous museum displays of cowboy memorabilia, mining tools, phonographs and Civil War weapons.
