Theater Break: “That’s Weird, Grandma”

This clever kids' show is a collaboration between Chicago Public Schools students and professional performers. The Barrel of Monkeys theater company leads creative writing workshops in low-income schools throughout the city. The resulting imaginative, quirky tales spun from the fingers of 3rd-5th graders then become fodder for Monday night performances that range from hilarious to offbeat to soulful. Tip: Say “not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin” at the box office for discounted tickets.
