The stories you read on Red Tricycle are written by fun-lovers and explorers — much like you! Now, on the cusp of summer, they’re filling their calendars with sunny family adventures. And they’re willing to share their secrets. Click through our album and see what our local Red Tricycle team recommends you do during the hot, bright and totally exciting months ahead.

"The only (I repeat: only) reason we haven't fled Chicago yet for warmer climes is because of the summers here. The endless list of activities remind me why I love this town. Our go-to everyday activities are picnics in Millennium Park, sandcastle building at 31st Street Beach, $1 movies, neighborhood fests (Printer's Row Lit Fest is a fave) and flea markets. We also make quick weekend trips to nearby getaways like Saugatuck, Michigan, and Door County, Wisconsin. It's a great feeling when you can wake up without a set plan and still find a ton of things to keep everyone in the family busy and happy."
