The stories you read on Red Tricycle are written by fun-lovers and explorers — much like you! Now, on the cusp of summer, they’re filling their calendars with sunny family adventures. And they’re willing to share their secrets. Click through our album and see what our local Red Tricycle team recommends you do during the hot, bright and totally exciting months ahead.

Kelly Haramis

"Every summer, my family visits Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We love traveling “back in time” to the late 1500s where the kids can practice archery, catapult a frog, or toss tomatoes at a man hurling insults. The kids love the rides like Da Vinci’s Flying Machine, operated solely by human workers. The faire also has Kids Quest where kids search for a treasure, and the opportunity to meet a “real” unicorn. We also love to picnic on the lawn during a concert at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park. My daughters' picks for the summer: Eat frozen yogurt from Froyo Chicago, and climb the rock wall and explore the enchanted forest at Maggie Daley Park."
