Click through to see them all, from a secret nature center to an auto museum with superhero appeal.

DuPage County Historical Museum – Wheaton

Housed in a building gifted by John Quincy Adams in 1891, the former Adams Memorial Library is now a museum that contains countless artifacts and materials that document DuPage County. Take a train ride on the HO Gauge Model Railroad, which runs two Saturdays a month. You’ll also want to schedule your visit around one of the museum’s special events like the Lego Train Show (shown in the photo here), an exploration of The Underground Railroad, or a Superhero Master Engineering Lego class.
