As glamazons galore seemingly floated into the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute benefit—more commonly known as the Met Gala—one super-celeb was noticeably absent. Model and soon-to-be second-time mama Chrissy Teigen’s Met Gala Instagram post was a sarcastically hilarious look at what pregnancy really is—even for the famous.

The 2018 Met Gala theme Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination spawned a parade of imaginatively haute looks worn by paparazzi faves such as Kylie Jenner, Blake Lively, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian West. But sadly, Teigen had to enjoy this year’s Met Gala from her couch.

Of course, pregnancy didn’t stop the supermodel/supermom from getting characteristically cute on IG. Teigen posted a very IRL pic of her pregnant self, writing (in a totally sarcastic tone), “this year’s #metgala GLAM was #SUPER important to me as I wanted it to really embody the heavenly bodies theme!!! I think we nailed it!! Swipe for #creds!!! First I shampooed my #hair yesterday with #shampoo then I let it sit for 4 minutes while I #shaved the areas I could see on my #body.”

Teigen continued her beauty routine post poking fun at beauty ‘grammers with, “Next, I used a #towel to dry my hair from roots to ends!! Then, I used a #rubberband to secure my hair into a pony that I was careful not to pull out all the way! Lastly, I pulled out pieces around my #ears and #neck! Full tutorial coming up tomorrow!!!!!! Like and subscribe!!!!!”

Yep, that sounds about right. Somehow we think Kim K’s real Met Gala glam routine was…um, different?
