Crowded malls got you down? Take a step back in time to the charm and comfort that is Bothell’s Country Village. Shop for the littles at Bella and Max (haircuts too!) and Toys That Teach. Check out the music classes at Dee’s Music Room or pick up a unique gift at one of over 40 shops and restaurants.
Little ones have a ball here too; the Village’s shops are spread out and connected by a variety of paths with small duck ponds. Ducks are quacking and chickens are clucking while they wander the village with you. Don’t miss the playground; it’s a hidden treasure behind the shops at the West end of the property. You’ll find mini train-rides that run every day, a slide, merry-go-round, swings, giant caterpillar, and a brand-new Pirate Ship. Picnic tables are scattered about if you want to pack a lunch or snack. Better yet, stop in at one of the restaurants or the tea shop for a treat. “The Village Bean” offers an indoor play area for kids. Stay and play or get a boxed lunch to-go and hit the outdoor playground.
Every month the family-owned Country Village has a variety of special events (often including pony rides) listed on their website-join the email list to stay in the know. Summertime brings the Farmer’s Market and the Village gets even more charming during the month of December with thousands of twinkling lights and the much anticipated Village Tree Lighting (Santa actually flies in) and Cookies with Mrs. Claus.
