Donley’s Wild West Town in Union, Illinois

The cowboy theme park is located just an hour northwest of Chicago, but feels a world away. Nestled in the pretty McHenry County countryside near the Illinois Railway Museum, it packs a restaurant, museum and more than a dozen rides and activities, plus an exciting Western gunfight show starring cowboys, villains, and cops. There’s a recreation of an Old West town complete with saloon, general store and county jail plus canoe rides, trains and more. Your little cowpokes will be pleased as punch. The park is open daily from mid-May to mid-August and weekends in Sep. & Oct. Admission is Admission is $17/person for ages 3 and up. Children 2 and under are free.
